Buttlerfly Class
Year 3
Welcome to the Year 3 class page.
Mrs Lisa Palin, Class Teacher
Year 3 is the exciting gateway into Key Stage 2, where pupils can build and develop on the skills which they have begun to grow during their school journey. Year 3 provides increasing opportunities for the children to deepen their understanding – both independently and collaboratively. We like to find opportunities for learning both inside our classroom and around our grounds.
As well as deepening knowledge, breadth of knowledge is also expanded with access to new areas such as regular introductory French lessons and off-site Swimming provision. In Year 3 we value exploring ideas in practical ways – from inclusive Science experiments to handling ancient artefacts.
Resilience, responsibility, and respect feature highly amongst the key life skills which this year is designed to enhance. We aim to support a range of learning styles, with an emphasis on gaining abilities while having fun, to encourage a new generation of eager and considerate learners.
In the words of Year 3 pupils when asked to describe this class to the incoming Year 2:
‘You don’t know what to expect but it’s really fun.’
