Year R– have read the Gigantic Turnip and been having a lot of fun re-enacting the story both inside and out. They especially liked the bit when they all fell over. Some children even thought of new characters to add into the story.
Year 1– have started their learning about London. They have made some brilliant London bus collages and drawn pictures of Buckingham Palace. They learnt some facts about the palace and were able to tell the rest of the school that there are over 600 windows, 800 rooms and that it is the job of 2 people to make sure the 300 clocks are working!!
Year 2– had a great first session in Forest School. They made boats and had to think about how best to make them float. They found lots of natural materials to create their boats with.
Year 3– walked to church very sensibly and were excellent ambassadors for our school at St Stephen’s. They were learning about Lent and had lots of good questions for Reverend May.
Year 4– have responded very well to their new behaviour expectations and are showing a more mature attitude to learning.
Year 5– have tackled some very tricky maths this week involving fractions. They had to really persevere with their problem solving techniques to find the answers to the questions. Well done Year 5.
Year 6– started the week with some science investigations involving ice melting. They have also been trying very hard with their maths and made some very sound connections between percentages, decimals and fractions.
